A Guide to Scotland Through Color
With its rolling green hills, rich patterns and prints, and vibrant fall foliage this time of year, Scotland has a color palette to go plaid over. We ventured all over this magical country to gain inspiration for our Fall 2019 collection, letting its color take us to new heights. Have you seen how tall the castles are? We made sure to capture its breathtaking scenery, the edgy fall fashion, and colorful culture in every shade, so follow our colorful guide to Scotland to plan your visit— and your next mani.
It’s no secret Scotland is mad about plaid. The inspiration for “Good Girls Gone Plaid” came from the deep amethyst we saw punctuating the iconic print on everything from heavy fall coats to pub tablecloths, giving vibrant purples something to play with— and something for us to covet.
For those days on your travels when you want to channel the tartan icon of Scotland color, wear “A Little Guilt Under the Kilt” to add a powerful pop of red to your fingertips. Or really go for it and match it to a kilt. We’re not saying we didn’t, because we definitely did.
Nothing compares to Aberdeen, which is what inspired “Things I’ve Seen in Aber-green.” Wear this dark green nail polish and feel like a princess after you ascend the winding country roads and let your hair down in one of the many seaside castles.
You say potato, we say, “Can we get seconds?” Scotland’s food scene is famous for its hearty, traditional dishes like haggis, sticky toffee pudding, and porridge, but if you paint your nails with this classic mauve nail polish, you might overhear someone actually ordering “Edinburgh-er & Tatties” at the pub.
When you’re not driving around the countryside, the second best way to explore Scotland and its colors is by foot. Head to Edinburgh, grab a camera, and turn the cobblestone streets into your runway with “Boys Be Thistle-Ing At Me” – a dark, shimmery purple nail polish that will turn heads as you venture through vintage stores, pubs, and the picturesque Grassmarket.
Walking through Glasgow, we fell in love with the Instagram- worthy, dusty- pink glow that lit up the city’s architecture at sunset. Wearing this shade will certainly make everyone say: “You’ve Got That Glas-Glow.”
Now that you know how Scotland inspired our Fall collection colors, pack your bags and explore the magical country yourself!
