These are the moments....the ones I imagined the moment we found out we got to have our little girl. This was our first mother/daughter manicure and it really was everything I dreamed our bonding moments to be. I waited a while to do it because I wanted her to be old enough to really enjoy it. It's important to me that Goldie knows that while there are far more important things than looking pretty, feeling pretty and pampering yourself is very important. I know as a mom of young kids I don't indulge in self-care as much as I should so I'm making an effort to show my daughter that it's important to take care of herself when she's a mom herself someday if she chooses to be.

I have so many memories of painting my nails with that iconic OPI bottle growing up. It's ridiculously fun to be able to bond over things like nail polish colors. Daughters are fun at every age, but I feel like 4 years is when you really get to start enjoying things together like music, clothes, make-up and nails.

Of course I let Goldie choose her color and she went right for "Polly Want A Lacquer?" from OPI's Spring/Summer Fiji Collection. The cute OPI names make me smile. I always love a neutral nail so I chose "Do You Take Lei Away," a classic OPI shade. I thought it needed something fun so I asked my nail tech for a rainbow. It inspired me to get some brushes and try it with all my OPI shades at home!

Goldie asked if we could get mac n' cheese and blood orange lemonade at Lemonade after our manis and I was happy to indulge her. I love spoiling her a bit on days like this. She is really the sweetest girl and makes me so proud with her manners and her awareness of the feelings of everyone we encounter throughout the day. It's nice to be able to reward her by taking little fun trips with just the two of us. I thought I would amp up the spoiling and let her pick out a toy as well. She chose a tea cart and we played tea party for longer than anyone over age five would prefer. It was a heavenly day.

It was so fun to give you a little peek into our fun day. Sending you love and sunshine from California.

XO.
