Steph Stone's Roadtrip Up the Coast with OPI
As Los Angeles keeps me consistently busy, it’s rare that I get to travel outside of the city for work. Whenever I do it’s the biggest treat so obviously taking a road trip with OPI up the coast sight seeing and shooting nail art for the new California Dreaming collection was a dream job!
Erica from OPI, Zach our photographer, and I started our journey early - meeting downtown at 6am, coffee in hand. We wanted to get a head start so we could shoot our first nail look at sunrise in Santa Monica. Our plans were to start South and work our way up the coast visiting landmarks along the way. We’d stay in San Francisco, visit the bridge in the morning and return home the next day.
Our plans were thwarted as it started pouring rain on our way to Santa Monica! We ended up having to redirect our schedule completely and head north to get past the rainstorm. It ended up coming together perfectly and we made our first stop in Carmel!
We took a couple pictures there and then made our way over to the vineyards for a very quick meal, glass of wine, and matching nail look in This Is Not Whine Country.
After lunch we made our way up to San Francisco. We had about five hours of driving and were racing daylight to make it to the bridge before sunset! We made it just in time and I had done my nails on the way there so ensure we could shoot the looks as soon as we got there. We got the most beautiful shots and of course Erica and I made Zach take BFF pictures of the two of us for Instagram!
The thing that impressed me most about OPI during this trip was how clearly the team curating the colors for this collection truly drew inspiration from Californias landmarks and especially the colors of the sunset and skyline. We left San Francisco early the next morning and had the most beautiful drive back down south. Erica and I couldn’t stop exclaiming how every color of the sunrise was represented in the California Dreaming collection! Our excitement left Zach unamused as he was trying to sleep before we had to make a few more stops to shoot but at least we had each other to be enthusiastic about it with. ;)
Over all this whirlwind road trip was one of the most fun jobs I have ever gotten to be a part of and left me even more in love with OPI than ever. I hope everyone loves the collection as much as I do and can’t wait to find out which colors are everyones favorites!
