OPI July Pro Spotlight: @sreyninpeng

From getting GRAMMY-ready with Madison Beer, to serving looks with Serena Williams, this pro has worked with some of the most well-known celebs of our time. Read on to learn about her fave OPI summer shades, her skyrocketing career, and her plans for the future.

OPI: How did your journey to become a nail artist begin?

Sreynin: My journey began at the age of 16 when my friend first invited me to work at her parents' nail salon for the summer.

OPI: Which shade from our new Summer '24 collection, My Me Era, is your favorite?

OPI: Which shade from our new Summer '24 collection, My Me Era, is your favorite?

Sreynin: My summer 24' favorite “Midnight Snacc” green is doing something for me this summer. My favorite My Me Era shade is "You're the Zest" we warming up nicely to these oranges.

OPI: You've already worked with countless celebrities in your career, such as Snoh Aalegra, Queen Latifa, Bebe Rexha, and more! How did you get to work with celebrities like these?

Sreynin: Well, while working at the nail salon one day a client told me I belonged somewhere else, and from there I received my first celebrity house call request. It was Lil Kim; she was on Dancing with the Stars. I worked on the whole season with her and she was so lovely I told myself, "I COULD JUST DO THIS…" so I did. Soon after, I got another request through word of mouth, and it was Serena Williams. And the list will go on and on from there.

OPI: Your nail art ranges from stunning and elaborate red carpet nail art, to classic and precise looks! Which of the two is your favorite and why?

OPI: Your nail art ranges from stunning and elaborate red carpet nail art, to classic and precise looks! Which of the two is your favorite and why?

Sreynin: There is a time and place for nail art, sometimes you just get to run wild but when working with many high profile clients I get requested to keep it well-groomed. With artist clients, I get to be more creative with the nail art, but my actor/actress clients keep it clean for the carpet looks. What I love most is the different requests for nail services. I just love to provide it so it doesn't always have to be extravagant nail art. I get to be in different workspaces daily and I have seen some beautiful places along the way. It’s a breath of fresh air.

OPI: Where does your inspiration for nail art come from?

Sryenin: Inspiration comes from the vibe of the event and I will most likely chime in with the stylist to see what their thoughts are to bring the look together.

OPI: Do you have any advice for nail artists that are just starting out and want to build a career like yours?

OPI: Do you have any advice for nail artists that are just starting out and want to build a career like yours?

Sreynin: Enter with the intention to provide a service as needed. Respect the client's privacy and always stay professional. When you carry all those, as they grow they will take you along with them. Let your story begin.

OPI: Since you've already accomplished so many incredible goals, what would you like to see next when it comes to your nail career?

Sreynin: I don't want to say too much, but I have a pretty long-time goal to combine my family business with the nail business—both being craftsmen's professions that are rare these days. Coming Soon.

OPI:Are there any techniques or tools that you use most often?

OPI:Are there any techniques or tools that you use most often?

Sreynin: Technique is a nail tech's identity and I believe it should be viewed as inspo. My traveling collapsible kettle is my favorite and most used tool in my kit.

OPI: What's always a part of your nail prep routine?

Sreynin: I.B.D PowerBond. Universal to any application.

OPI: You partnered with OPI for the 2024 GRAMMY awards, doing nails for Coco Jones and Madison Beer. What was your favorite part of that experience?

OPI: You partnered with OPI for the 2024 GRAMMY awards, doing nails for Coco Jones and Madison Beer. What was your favorite part of that experience?

Sreynin: I loved that Coco Jones let me create her look with so much trust and let my creativity run wild and it turned out amazing. With Madison we did a combo natural look, so I got the rush and the calm. Normally I would not take on two or more clients on event day, but the two balanced the energy so well that it made everything perfect.
