How to Prep Nails for Dipping Powder by Hand

Prepped nails are your super powder. Before you create your work of art, learn how to prep for dip powder by hand.

Products Used

Step 1
Always wash and sanitize hands with Swiss Blue Liquid Hand Soap or Swiss Hand Guard Antiseptic Gel.
Step 2
Trim and shape nails if needed with the EDGE 240 Nail File.
Step 3
Apply Swiss Guard to nail beds using a cuticle pusher and push back the eponychium to reveal the true cuticle.
Step 4
Remove any residue left behind with a Nail Wipe saturated with N.A.S. 99 Nail Cleansing Solution to keep everything spotless.
Step 5
Use the Dexterity Nail Plate Cleaner to remove excess tissue. Use the side of your Dexterity tool to gently remove any excess cuticle.
Step 6
Remove any hangnails and remaining tissue with the AccuNip Precision Nipper.
Step 7
Gently buff the nail surface with the 220 side of the 220/280 FLEX, focusing on the sidewalls and the cuticle area. Then, remove any dust with a brush.
Step 8
Once smooth, wipe down the nails one more time, then apply one coat of Bond Aid and let it dry. Done and dusted.
