We take safety seriously and are committed to product safety. OPI products undergo rigorous safety evaluation, meeting global standards for human safety, and are safe when used as directed.

Our A-team of scientists (many with PhDs and backgrounds in beauty and beyond) work out of our state-of-the-art lab in Calabasas, California. They partner with salon nail pros to test and develop the latest colors, formulas, products, and packaging, ensuring our formulas are salon-worthy and amazing for you.

Our Nail Lacquer, Nature Strong, Infinite Shine, RapiDry™, GelColor with OPI Intelli-Gel Technology™, Powder Perfection, and Nail Envy® shades are formulated without animal-derived ingredients or by-products.

Thoughtfully Formulated*

We've thoughtfully formulated our Nail Lacquer, Nature Strong, Infinite Shine, RapiDry, and Nail Envy® shades to be free of these ingredients: formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, tolune, xylene, camphor, parabens, ethyl tosylamide, dibutyl phthalate, triphenyl phoshate. While these ingredients are still permitted in the U.S., we've chosen to go above and beyond by providing a "thoughtfully formulated" formula for our U.S. customers. Our professional (GelColor with Intelli-Gel Technology™ and Powder Perfection) colors are also HEMA-free and do not use TPO.

HEMA-Free*

Our Powder Perfection and GelColor with Intelli-Gel Technology™ shades are HEMA-free. That means you get the long-lasting color you love minus the ingredients some people worry about. When using Powder Perfection and GelColor with OPI Intelli-Gel Technology™, strictly follow use instructions. Please note that HEMA-free products do not contain HEMA (2-Hydroxyethyl methacrylate), but allergic reactions to other acrylates may occur. If you/your client observe any changes to normal skin appearance such as itching, redness or swelling, discontinue use and consult your doctor. Excludes Super Strong Base Coat.

We are actively implementing more recycled materials in our color caps and bottles* *Since 2023 we have increased our use of recycled glass and plastic materials in our nail color bottles by 15% and caps by 11% (Nail Lacquer, Infinite Shine, RapiDry™, Nature Strong and GelColor) and we continue to work with our vendors to increase our use of recycled materials.
