Introducing OPI Global Brand Ambassador: @cocamichelle
First-generation British-Vietnamese nail artist and the newest addition to the OPI team!

Known for her intricate, surreal, and experimental nail designs, Coca’s innovative work landed her on ‘Forbes 30 Under 30’ Class of ‘23, as the only manicurist in the Art and Style category. She is a favorite among clients like Cardi B, Tyla, Victoria Monet, and has worked with countless other entertainers, celebrities, and fashion icons in her 16 years in the industry.
OPI: Coca, you've built such an impressive career in nails! Looking back, what was the initial spark or inspiration that led you to start doing nails and exploring nail art?
Coca: I wasn’t the most social kid, but I found it easier to connect to people while I was doing nails. Seeing the confidence people gained, especially after nail art, inspired me to continue the interest at that time.
OPI: As a highly sought-after manicurist working with numerous celebrities and on major projects, what does a typical daily routine look like for you?
Coca: My schedule is changing constantly, which leaves little room for a strict, timed routine. Typically, I’m in communication with my manager Z, my clients, and their teams throughout the day. Since manicuring can be pretty stationary, I try to go to the gym daily. If I have an early call time, I’ll go at night.
OPI: You've achieved incredible milestones, including being the first manicurist in Forbes 30 Under 30 for Art and Style and launching your own nail charm line. What do you consider your biggest achievement to date?
Coca: I don’t think there is one. Or maybe I’m working towards it. I’m just grateful for everything... the lessons, experiences, and people that are/have been a part of it.
OPI: For aspiring nail artists who look up to your intricate and innovative style, what essential tips would you give them as they begin their journey in the industry?
Coca: If there’s a style or idea you want to execute, do it on yourself. It’s easier for people to see your vision when it’s already created.
OPI: You've shared quite a bit about your career, but what is one surprising or lesser-known thing about Coca Michelle that our OPI community might not know?
Coca: I’m fussy about how clothes feel on me. I can change my outfit several times a day just based on my mood, even if I’m just chilling at home.
OPI: Considering the many iconic figures you've had the opportunity to work with, if you could give a manicure to anyone (dead or alive) who you haven't worked with yet, who would it be and why?
Coca: Sha’carri Richardson. She’s already a wearer of eccentric nails, so it would be cool to push creative ideas with her. I also respect that she challenges the stigma of not being able to do much with long nails, with her being a World Champion Olympian.
OPI: With your keen eye for color and trends, what are some of your all-time favorite OPI shades, and why do they resonate with your artistic style?
Coca: I really like the OPI Make ‘Em Jelly collection. I've had to mix colors in the past to get certain jelly shades, but this collection is unique, and the colors have depth to them despite being sheer.
