  • OPI Celebrates Women’s History Month with Nail Art of Inspiring Women

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we worked with nail pro-Lonna, AKA @lonnanailedit to inspire us with nail art depicting notable women in history including Malala Yousafzai, Shina Nova, Laverne Cox, and Suzi Weiss-Fischmann.

Malala Yousafzai is a Pakistani education advocate who, at the age of 17 in 2014, became the youngest person to win the Nobel Peace Prize after surviving an assassination attempt by the Taliban.

Shina Novalinga is an Inuk social media personality, singer, and activist. She gained fame for posting videos of throat singing with her mother on TikTok and Instagram. Novalinga has been outspoken about her desire to educate others about Inuit culture and history. She frequently adds "indigenous twists" trends on TikTok as a way of sharing her culture.

Laverne Cox is a transgender actress who stepped into the limelight with her role on the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, eventually becoming the first openly transgender person in history to be nominated for an Emmy and to appear on the cover of Time magazine.

Suzi Weiss-Fischmann is a Hungarian-American businessperson. She is the co-founder of OPI Products (Odontorium Products Inc.) with her brother-in-law George Schaeffer. Weiss-Fischmann is a second-generation Holocaust survivor born in Hungary and the author of the book I'm Not Really a Waitress.

I love when my clients walk out with a smile on their faces. This is 100% self-care. Beauty is about feeling good about yourself for yourself. For anybody looking to get into this industry that may find it difficult, I am always willing to help and educate to the best of my ability. I want to see others thrive. Another nail artist isn't my competition, they are my sister.”
