Ever stared at a bottle that says "nail lacquer" and wondered if it's secretly just... nail polish in a fancier outfit? Fair question. The two are close cousins, but nail lacquer is made with its own special formula that applies differently.

Is nail lacquer the same as nail polish?
Kind of a trick question. Technically, all modern "nail polish" is a form of lacquer. "Polish" is really just an old-school term left over from the days when nail color had to be buffed onto the nail with abrasives (hence, "polishing").

How to Apply Nail Polish:
- Step 1: Prep nails using Nature Strong nail and skincare.
- Step 2: Apply 1 coat of Natural Nail Base Coat.
- Step 3: Apply 2 thin, even layers of color, allowing each coat to dry in between. Pro Tip: Apply nail polish down the center of the nail to avoid flooding your cuticle. Then work your way down the sides of the nail, and be sure to cap the free edge as a final step.
- Step 4: Once your nail polish has dried, apply 1 layer of OPI Top Coat.

How many layers of nail polish should I put on?
Stick to the formula: 1 coat of Base Coat, 2 coats of color, 1 coat of Top Coat. More isn't better here. Extra coats just make dry time harder to manage and can actually cause your mani to wear down faster.
How do I make nail polish last?
It all comes back to prep. Start with clean, properly prepped nails and always lead with Natural Nail Base Coat. It extends wear and keeps your natural nails from staining or yellowing. If your nails need a little extra TLC, swap in Natural Nail Strengthener instead for added strength on top of the wear-extending benefits.
How do I make nail polish dry fast?
Give each layer about 1-2 minutes to dry before moving to the next. Rushing it traps air bubbles between layers, and that includes your Base Coat and Top Coat, not just color. If you're in a hurry, RapiDry™ Top Coat or Drip Dry quick-drying drops will speed up that final step without cutting corners.
