Our 40th Anniversary OPI Ambassador: Kerry Washington
In 2016, Kerry Washington joined forces with our founder Suzi Weiss-Fischmann to bring you our Washington DC collection. For our 40th anniversary, we are once again partnering with Kerry who is back as our OPI Ambassador. As a celebrated actress, producer, and activist, she is the perfect match to drive our brand's DNA of being playful and lighthearted with a philosophy to nurture and empower women. Our iconic I'm Not Really A Waitress nail lacquer has been a go-to of Kerry's since the 1990s when she worked as a waitress while trying to make it as an actress in Hollywood. Read more about her favorite OPI products and her nail care routine in the Allure interview below.
Created in 1999 as part of our original Hollywood collection, our founder Suzi Weiss-Fischmann created this candy apple red as a nod to a city where dreams come true–one minute you’re a waitress, the next you’re an actress. What made this hue truly iconic are the micas in the formula–they have a special light-reflecting property that makes the lacquer adaptable to all skin tones, which is why so many, including Kerry, credit I'm Not Really A Waitress as the perfect red.
